Residents and city are at odds over Broadway Terrace traffic
Scholtz was so concerned about the fast-moving traffic on Broadway Terrace, especially on down hill from Highway 13 to Clarewood Drive, that she peppered the neighborhood in early July with fliers designed to drum up interest in nudging city officials to take measures that would slow motorists and increase crosswalk safety.

The crosswalks across Broadway Terrace are difficult to manuever. The street winds and the views of the bay draw drivers’ attention away from the roadway. So speeding is not the total part of the problem, you must add distraction.
Now we will have less traffic officers since they are being used to train the new cadets.
I also find it difficult to maneuver the crosswalk across the exit from Hwy 13, when walking to Temescal. There is no stop sign if you are heading down hill to Clarewood. The drivers’ are looking over their shoulders to merge and not at the crosswalk. Is this a CalTrans responsibilty?
I’m glad there is a group tackling this problem.
